Helaman was an excellent tour guide. We were referred to him by a friend who went on a tour with him and it was their favorite part of their cruise and we found it to be our favorite part too. We went on a Caribbean cruise and only had one day in Tulum but wished we had more time. He told us how to get over to Tulum and found it to be easy. The tour of Tulum was wonderful. He was well versed in the Book of Mormon and applied the cultures of the Mayan's to the Book of Mormon in a way that really opened up your eyes. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I felt very safe with him as well. Our cruise ship was 2 hours late getting in to Mexico and we were worried he wouldn't be there to meet us as we had no way to communicate with him but he got there early and waited 3-4 hours for us and he made sure we got back to catch our ferry on time. We felt very safe with him and we felt like we were old friends by the time we left Mexico. Such a wonderful part of our cruise!!! You HAVE to book with Helaman LDS or not!!!

We are going a cruise via the Norwegian Star cruise line. We will be in Cozumel on 01/27/12. Our ship docks at 8:00 a.m. and depart at 6:00 p.m. We were wondering if there would be any tours available within that time frame that would be going to Chichen Itza. We would be very interested in going on this tour if possible.
Also, are you available for tours in Costa Maya and Belize City ?

We spent a fantastic day of learning and site seeing with Helaman. We were there for the World Congress of Martial Arts Competition and got to tour with him on Jan. 9, 2012. What a wonderful experience and one of the very BEST tours I've ever taken. We saw Coba and Tulum. I am very excited to read the Book of Mormon again as he related scriptures to the different sites we saw. He is very knowledgeable. We had 8 teenagers all very interested in what he had to say and answering questions from the Book of Mormon. A great experience and a great time was had by all, we will definitely repeat this tour again in the future! Thank you so much Helaman!!

The day before we left for our cruise to the Western Caribbean, my sister in law Hillary heard about Helaman tours from a family friend. She sent an email letting them know that we were interested in touring Tulum. Helaman called her that night. She set our tour up for while we were in port in Cozumel. He gave us information on what to do and where to go to meet him. His brother Lemuel met us at the Ferry terminal and drove us to Tulum. In route he gave us a history of the church in his area- he is the Stake President now. His guided tour of Tulum was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. He led a discussion of the different sites and carvings we saw and waited for us to put the information together and figure out the meanings from our knowledge of the Book of Mormon. It was very educational- he even brought scripture references in. Lunch was provided by a sister in his ward- it was delicious. Tulum was beautiful. We are now trying to plan a week long trip to the area so that Lemuel or anyone in his family can give us tours to the other Book of Mormon sites in that area. I can't wait to go back and bring my children to experience the places we read about in the Book of Mormon. Thank you Lemuel for the amazing experience. It strengthened my testimony. I highlly recommend the tour to everyone.

We had friends who recommended Helaman Tours. Upon arrival in the Playa del Carmen area, we had no plans for excursions as we just wanted to relax as we had been to this area I. The past and had seen Tulum with an LDS guide. A couple of days into our stay we decided to email Helaman to see if we could tour only Coba, swim in a Cenote and perhaps do some snorkeling. This particular tour was not one that was advertised on his site. Being such short notIced we weren't sure they could accomdate us. We heard back from him within minutes and said he could arrange it for the next day. His son Nephi took us on a private custom tour and it was marvelous. He was so knowledgable about not only the cultural of the Mayan people but their history and the Book o f Mormon connection. He was a very spiritual young man who went out of his way to show us a great time. I was impressed as to their immediate response, their willingness to arrange just the things we desired to do and the quality of the tour. It was so fun and we made some great memories. We took this tour for my birthday.. I can honestly say that this was thee most incredible tour guide and tour I had ever gone on. By far the best birthday of my life. I love watermelon and Helaman stopped for me on the side of the road so I could have a watermelon. It was one of the most yummiest Watermelons on the planet. I will never forget us all standing on the side of the road eating our juicy dripping watermelon. Then taking some back to our condo to enjoy for later.
The tour was amazing I saw a whole different side to the history I had been told and learned my whole life. The people I had heard stories about became real and true hero's. I wanted to learn more. I want my children to feel and learn what I have and see the amazing artifacts that are there to let us know that life really went on as the stories of old.
I went with my brothers and parents. My family is not the most active my brothers and sister in law are not active at all. I appreciated that even knowing we were all LDS he did not push the religion. I
I started to get a sore throats and over all not feeling that great. Thinking I was coming down with a cold. I was doing my complaining when Helaman told us that honey was an amazing cure for a cold. He drove by this little honey shack. He asked us if we would like to stop. We thought why not,,, so he pulled over he showed me the honey candies that would help me out with my cold. I bought one bag and set forth to beat the cold coming on. They were incredible however as it turned out it was allergies and no amount of honey would help me. But his kind thought and concern for my health was comforting.
I would recommend Helamans Tours.. They are an incredible family with an amazing ability to draw you to the worlds history and desire to learn more.
It will be a birthday I will forever remember and I hope one day soon I will be able to return and have Helamans Tours take my six children and share the amazing stories of Mexico with them.

Thank you for the amazing tour. I know this is late coming. I was there in march of last year and as my birthday is fast approaching I am drawn to the memories. Thank you for the amazing day.

Helaman gave our group of 17 a tour of Tulum. What a fantastic experience we had. Helaman provided comfortable transportation, lunch, snacks and great insight to the scriptures and the history of Tulum. He is extremely knowledgable and motivated our entire group to study and understand the scriptures. I would most enthusiasticly recommend Helaman Tours and we would go with him again in a heartbeat.

I just discovered that there is a place on this website to leave a comment so I am ecstatic that I can.
My disabled brother and I toured Chitzen Itza with Helaman in September, 2011. Helaman did everything possible to assist my brother and his service goes above and beyond all expectation. We cannot express our appreciation enough for his goodness and the wonderful experience we had on this tour. Helaman’s knowledge of the Mayan history and how it ties into the Book of Mormon is astounding and he has allowed me to see the record of this ancient people with new eyes. His testimony rings clear and truly enhances the entire experience. I can’t wait to go again and highly recommend his tours to everyone I know. Thank you Helaman for your excellent service to us!

Helaman was fabulous. I would plan an entire vacation around him. I have never had a desire to go to mexico but am now planning a return trip with extended family. This was the highlight of our 7 day carribean cruise and all 5 kids (4-17) were happy with the day. Cruising gave us limited time with Helaman, I may try staying right in Cancun. Thank you, Helaman, for a very memorable visit!
